In earlier days, the streets of Tua-Tiu-Tiann were filled with the sounds of Nakashi, a blend of Taiwanese folk and Japanese pop music that was born during the Japanese colonial period. The music remains part of Taiwan's cultural legacy to this day. For this event, Taiwanese jazz band Musiclight will perform classic Nakashi tunes at the Taipei City Hotel. To many Taiwanese the perfect accompaniment to Nakashi music is a fine meal, so during the performance, a Taiwanese-style banquet will be served to the audience.
